Demolish and revitalize

On the threshold of the New Year, I cast the cards in order to prompt myself towards asking what I’d like to see more of and less of in the coming year, the year of 2023 that we’re about to enter now.

The Tower, the Lovers, and the Devil speak of the following:

What I would like to see more of is how manipulative institutions based on vacillating lies come crashing down.

I would like to see less talk about how edifying our vices can be to the benefit of all, because… ‘because I’m human. I live with insecurity.’ Fuck that shit.

I would like to see less talk about how many mistakes we’ve made in 2022 that only show our humanity – talk whose sole purpose is to signal the worst kind of hypocritical virtue: ‘I’ve been an asshole, but that’s because I’m human. Now praise me for my honesty.’ Fuck that shit too.

I would like to see the easily impressionable go to the jail they complicity prepare for all those who are not in agreement with their devilish humanity crap, so the rest of us can be free of having to constantly engage with exorcisms.

If you have to tell people that you are – human, generous, vulnerable, virtuous – you aren’t.

If you have to tell people that you’re a mean, no nonsense Devilish bitch – also because you’re human, of the most ‘transparent’ kind at that too – you aren’t. What you are is a con.

Let us have more demolished self-proclamatory bodies in the year of 2023, and less anaemic lovers, who can’t wait for the ‘loving mommas’ or ‘the strong man’ to lead them straight to hell.

That would suit me just fine.
